Another great show at KGB Bar, hosted by Leslie Goshko.
Joey Novick (MTV, Comedy Central) told his tale of how he, a comedian, was elected to public office by following the rules of improve…yes, and…
Dana Rossi (host of The Soundtrack Series, essayist of Madonna and Me) gave us a rip-roaring story about how she became comfortable enough to pee in public.
David Crabb (host of Ask Me Stories) His story from his youthful friendship filled with earnest and how things change when you meat those people as adults. He was lucky enough for a second meeting to occur where he was able to glimpse the youth he once knew.
Diana Spechler (author of Skinny and Who By Fire) gave us a story about hanging out with her neighbor and why that was probably…definitely, not a good idea.

7/18/12. It was fun to shoot 2 bands that I have not shot before. Strange photo pit situation when volunteer workers carry plates of food and bags of ice through the pit in order to get to the seated location. I was a bit worried that I would crash into one of them but, thankfully, it didn’t happen. Many thanks to Eric for letting me hang in his car while we waited out the rain and delayed door opening. It was an absolute pleasure to shoot with Toby.

Friday nights at the Seaport are just heaven. Shot Eleanor Friedberger, ExCops and Zambri on 7/13/12. SO many friends in the photo pit made for a fun evening.

Despite the heat, had a great day at The Seaport’s 4Knots Festival. Shot with great friends, Bryan, Amanda, Chris, Abbey, Ben, and Roland. Met some new togs (excuse my memory, I turned a year older the next day…). Had a nice chat with Cheryl and then Troy and met Sara in person. There was the matter of the big fire at the end of Pier 17 but I was unaware of it until it was almost out. Caused some delay and confusion of how we could access the photo pit but it all worked out in the end. And, I FINALLY GOT TO SHOOT The Drums. Been trying to do that for a few years..
Archers of Loaf
So, this photog got into the pit for Crocodiles by breaking some rules (it really wasn’t his fault, security wasn’t always informed on what to do with us after the fire). About 3 songs in, he crowd surfed out and I didn’t see him in the pit for the remainder of the festival.

Summer Fridays at The Seaport… It’s my favorite place to shoot. Patrick Watson and Lonely Dear were pretty fantastic against that backdrop. Also, had a great time shooting with Dominick. Good to see Roland and Cat Martino in the audience as well.

Fun night at the 92Y Tribeca for Sideshow Goshko. Leslie told a tale of whether or not she grew up in a cult, Katina regaled us with a story about seeing signs, Lauren’s story of growing up in a single parent household with only her mom and 2 dogs pulled at our heartstrings and Elina’s story of “YES” enchanted us.
Award-winning storyteller Leslie Goshko (Sirius XM, WNYC) invites some of New York’s top writers and storytellers to share true, bizarre tales about their lives. There’s live accordion music, a challenging trivia game and a free wine giveaway where one lucky audience member will walk away with their very own bottle of Sideshow Sauce!
