Such an amazing and fun night… Liars were fantastic. I love to shoot this band and it was made better shooting with Bryan, Ebru and Abbey. It was lovely to chat with Sheryl and Grace as well.

Northside 2012 Wrap-Up

All in all it was a pretty good Northside Festival Highlights were seeing bunches of friends (see post below), Friday night at Spike Hill and Saturday in McCarren Park. Lowlights were the shoulder injury I suffered from a photographer elbowing my shoulder while I was crouched down and of course the fall I took right at the end of the festival that left me unable to walk for a few minutes….thanks Bryan for being there to help me walk to the sidewalk and for carrying my camera bag and hailing a cab. You’re the best-est.

Northside 2012 Days 1-3

So far, Northside has been fun this year. As always, lots of bands to see and friends to hang out with.

It was good to hang a bit with, Amanda (both of you), Bryan, Jeremiah, Marta, Kristie, Sydney, Matt (all of you), Max, Jim, Lisa (both of you), Sue, Alicia, Stephen (both of you), Heidi, Alyse, George, Jess, Redboy, Will, Nadia, Liam, Eric, Dan, Jonas, Tony, Justin, Abbey, Jessica, Alberto, Chris, Ryan, Emma and countless others (I’m soooo tired). Photo Back Story: Delineate – Billy McCarthy

I shot this photo of Bill one summer evening while we were sitting outside of Prospect Park. Like most times that Bill and I hang out we spend a lot of time talking and then need to get it together to do some work. Bill did not enjoy that bright ring light shining in his face and laughed at me the entire minute or so of our shoot (he’s my favorite and gets away with just about anything). He told me that it was like going to the dentist and that when I wrote my description I should say, “Bill said it was like going to the dentist”. I did not write that it the exhibit notes but as always, Bill gets his way and I wrote it here. FYI: Watch Leno this Thursday to see We Are Augustines on Leno.

Gallery: I Break Horses, Field Mouse at Mercury Lounge

Late show last week (5/30/12) at Mercury Lounge. Field Mouse opened the night. I’ve shot them a few times before, this was the best of them. We were uncertain if I Break Horses was actually going to perform because their singer was very ill. They cam on later than scheduled due to it and played a short set. It was really fantastic though. The light situation was absolutely horrible…
