Gallery: Polica at Rock Shop 3/20/12

I had not seen Polica before – they were soooo good. It was an enjoyable shoot as well since the crowd was pretty chill. My apologies to Field Mouse who opened and I shot them but the memory card with the photos is nowhere to be found.

Gallery: Grimes, Born Gold at Mercury Lounge 3/23/12

Tough shoot at Mercury Lounge on Friday night, but a great show. There was absolutely no light during Born Gold with the exception of his jacket but it was an interesting performance. Grimes is really quite something special and the addition of some white projected light made it possible to get some decent shots.

We Are Augustines – Webster Hall 3/22/12

My all time favorites – first time at Webster Hall.  My heart was full of joy for them as they wowed the crowd.  I only had my wide-angle lens as I wasn’t actually shooting that night.  I just needed to document the moment – they’ve worked so hard for this.  Love my boys.

Clouder – Union Hall 3/22/12

Stopped into Union Hall on Thursday night to see Clouder and took a few shots. They are such good musicians and such sweet guys.

Gallery: Oberhofer, Pond, Jeane – 3/21/12

I’ve shot Oberhofer many times over the past few years and have watched him grow as a performer. On Wednesday, at Bowery Ballroom, I saw the culmination of all his hard work pay off. It was a tremendous show and a treat to shoot. I had never seen Pond before and they were really a crowd favorite (especially for the group of boys to my left). Jeane’s a solid band that I’d like to see more of.

Gallery: Julia Holter, Sarah Cahill at Le Poisson Rouge

This was a really beautiful show and a treat to shoot at LPR with a seated audience. It was a little awkward to move around the room at first but became easier as the night went on. It was also, as always, a pleasure to shoot with my dear friend Amanda. Many thanks to Matt at RVNG, as well.

Gallery: High Highs, Abadabad, White Birds, Il Abanico

2/29/12 at Pianos presented by Prefix.  It always a pleasure to see my dear friends, White Birds perform.  This was also the last residency of High Highs (who were wonderful).  Abadabad closed out the evening and newly arrived to NYC, Il Abanico opened the evening. It was a good night of music and friends.

Gallery: Shark?, Great Western Plains, FieldMouse

Had a fun night at Union Hall to see Shark?, Great Western Plains and FieldMouse. The evening was presented by Hillytown (my buddy Bryan). It was nice to spend some time with Matt, Nora and Chris as well. I was still pretty exhausted from what I can only explain as a vitamin deficiency because I started feeling better once I took some vitamin supplements. The light was ok that evening which I was grateful for because Union Hall can be iffy.
