I’ve been a bit under the weather (even lost my voice, which is, thankfully, just about back) so I have been home bound since Thursday evening. Today, I felt well enough to cook (vegetable broth was becoming a bit boring…).

Week 3 of The Garden Grows

Luckily, my flight last night back to NYC was not delayed and I was able to make it out to Nate Martinez and Josh Kaufman’s residency at Sycamore. This time they were accompanied by multi-instrumentalist and producer Mike Brown, with Bryan Devendorf on drums, Dan Brantigan on trumpet, and Mark McAdam on backrround vocals and guitar. Also, Annie Nero joined in on vocals a few times.
Once again, I only had my crappy point and shoot but the evening needed some sort of documentation.

Birthday!

My friend Bryan turned 30 on Wednesday and so I traveled up to Maine to celebrate with him. It rained all day (and the next day) but we had a blast. Mary made the most delicious cake I’ve ever had (and I don’t really like cake). It was a really good visit with all of the Portland folks that I haven’t seen in a year. Met some new peep as well.
I had my crappy point and shoot so the quality of the images is pretty awful…

Gallery: Man In Gray, El Jezel and Coyote Eyes

Fun night at Union Hall on Saturday. Bryan and Mary cam in from Portland for a pre-birthday bash for Bryan. We were treated to a Man In Gray re-union which was pretty wonderful. Good friends, El Jezel and Coyote Eyes rounded out the bill. I was handing out band-aids like tic-tacs as all of these folks literally shredded.

Mardi Gras at Fort Useless

Fun night at Fort Useless as we celebrated Mardi Gras with Gumbo, King Cake and Music. FYI – I got the baby in my slice of king cake and was the Queen of Mardi Gras – my crown was small and I couldn’t shoot while wearing it but Aleks Gylys took some photos with my camera to document it.
