Gowanus Canal (on the way to ATJ)

Gowanus is always so interesting to me. On the walk over to Littlefield for After The Jump yesterday I took a few shots of the canal and some pretty sunflowers right off the canal (on Union Street). As is was raining, I used my Blackberry instead of my 50D.

This was shot inside of Littlefield. To me it looks like my friend Jeremy. However, when I look at this photo, it does not look like him at all.

Kristin’s Going Away Brunch

Well, it’s time. My daughter goes back to school tomorrow (but she’s leaving my house tonight). We had a going away brunch this afternoon 🙂

Gallery: Fort Useless 8/23/09

My friend Jeremiah (Stereoactive) and several of his friends have started a new event space that they are currently calling Fort Useless. They opened yesterday and I stopped by for awhile. I saw performances by, Jared Friedman (of Holy Moly), Sharon Van Etten, El Jezel, Manny Nomikos (of Coyote Eyes) and Kristie Redfield. They plan on having more music, some art exhibits and stand up comedy along with whatever other ideas they can come up with.

What a fun night – even though it was as hot as hell in Mercury Lounge… At one point I could have wrung out my tank top. Aslo it was good to see Pop Tarts Suck Toasted and Danny (The Big Sleep) after the show 🙂

Caterpillar

On my way to visit my uncle in the hospital I saw this beautiful bright green caterpillar inching it’s way across the ground. It gave me all sorts of good vibes… This upcoming week will be interesting one in my life – full of challenges and I’m feeling good about it now. Thanks Mr. Caterpillar for reminding me about metamorphosis…that change can be beautiful 🙂
