DUMBO Arts Festival, The Hole, and, Why I can’t go out four nights a week….

Evening:
While walking to 66 Water Street for Deli Magazine’s music series (part of the DUMBO Arts Festival), I stepped into a hole,

twisted my left ankle and proceeded to fall (hard). On the way down, I hit my left knee, my right knee, both of my palms, my nose, chin and finally, my right shoulder. Three very sweet ladies were concerned and stayed to help me up – but I sat there for a bit because I was worried about my camera (which was in my bag and crashed to the concrete with me).They, quite nicely, waited for me to check my camera and helped me up. I went on my way but realized that I hadn’t checked the lens. So, I took out the camera and heard glass shaking around…. Luckily, oh, so, luckily, it was the UV filter that has cracked.

My lens cover was jammed into it.

The UV filter ha saved my $300 lens. I will ALWAYS cover my lenses with them! Then, a little battered,

onto the show.

MOMA and Family Hour at The P.I.T.

After avery busy (and somewhat stressful week), I actually saw friends last night!

After work, I went to MOMA to kill some time…instead, it was time well spent.

Then I headed to The P.I.T. to see my friend, Sara Benincasa’s show, Family Hour with Auntie Sara. After, we went to the Triple Crown, for some dinner, drinks and general mayhem.

Finch on 49th Street

My friend Patricia and me were outside after lunch today, standing under scaffolding that will envelop our building for the next three years. In mid-sentence, something fell and hit Patricia in the arm. It was this tiny little bird….

The bird stayed there the entire time (which was about half an hour). It seemed to be quite comfy and let Patricia pet it while napping. I took this series of shots with my trusty cell phone. I really need to get a point and shoot that I can carry around. . We’re going to go and check later to see if it’s gone.

We received gifts from the islands….

I spent most of the day cooking, which I enjoy. It’s both creative and relaxing. Slicing up the pineapple was more like a medical procedure, but, it’s quite delicious!

Brooklyn Comedy Company

So, yesterday afternoon, I took some promo shots for The Brooklyn Comedy Company. It’s not the kind of work that I normally do, but, it was a lot of fun. They were GREAT people to work with.

Early Fall

You can feel it in the air, Autumn is on it’s way (although I’m looking forward to the 80 degree weather this weekend).

Makes me want to read, read, read. So, I’ve taken a little break from shows….

I’ll be back out and about soon though!

Uplift…ing

This weekend, I pulled up the rug in my bedroom (which had been there for about 12 years – in fact it wasn’t my room when the rug was installed). It took A LOT of work to get that thing up and I’m still feeling the effects of it. It was well worth it though, I’m really happy that it’s gone. Well, mostly gone, there is still a small portion left. That’s for next weekend though. I’ve had enough for now.

I started on Friday night, what a mess…

and then, on Saturday, it got worse…

Today, although not finished, it’s livable.

I shot the above photo after spending the day with Elon and Emily (to do some promo shots). They are my new favorite couple. Mostly because the took me to Bistro Lafayette where I had very delicious Shrimp and Corn Fritters.
